Who They Are
Stanley Theophilus (47) from Obiezena, Imo State, and Victoria Uchechukwu Ekesi (28) from Anambra State — both blind due to measles and medical complications in childhood — live humbly in Ikotun, Lagos with their three young children, whom the children guide. 6
Life Challenges & Resilience
Stanley endured early hardship: raised by his grandmother, doing chores and physical labor, he later gained skills in music (keyboard, drums, vocals) and even cosmetics at a special school for the blind. 7 Victoria survived the loss of her mother, father, and grandmother in childhood, was supported by the Anglican Church through secondary school, and later earned degrees in Peace & Conflict Resolution (NOUN) and Mass Communication (University of Lagos). She served at a school for the blind during NYSC. 8
Current Struggles
Despite academic achievements, Victoria remains unemployed with no responses to her job applications. Stanley relies on music for income, but paid opportunities are scarce, often overshadowed by favoritism in churches despite his stamina and multi-lingual versatility. 9 Victoria’s small-scale insecticide business suffers from poor marketing and lack of capital. Rent is due, basic needs are unmet, and their children act as carers. 10

They embody dignity in adversity. Neither relies on begging—they seek opportunity, not charity. Pray for job placement, recognition of their skills, and provision that honors their worth. 11
