Why We Must Pray

As Christians, we are called to care for one another and to support those who are struggling. Mental health issues are a significant challenge for many people, and it is essential that we pray for those affected, as well as for the government and healthcare professionals who are working to provide support and care.

We can pray for wisdom, compassion, and understanding, that we might better support those who are struggling with mental health issues. We can also pray for the government, that they might prioritize mental health care and allocate sufficient resources to support those in need.

Scripture Reflection

In 1 Peter 5:7, we are reminded to 'cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.' This verse encourages us to bring our worries and concerns to God, trusting in his care and compassion.

In Matthew 11:28–30, Jesus says, 'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.' This passage reminds us that Jesus is our source of comfort and rest, and that we can trust in his gentle and humble heart.
