Heavenly Father,

We come before You with heavy and anxious hearts as war spreads across nations in the Middle East. Today, the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran has dramatically expanded, touching cities, borders, and families far beyond what many imagined. Entire regions now live under the shadow of fear, violence, and loss.

Recent days have seen major military operations involving coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran, known by some as Operation Epic Fury. These attacks have struck cities like Tehran and targeted military and political leaders, triggering a wave of retaliation from Iran and its allied groups across the region. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah have launched missile and drone strikes into Israel and Gulf states, and strikes continue to ripple outward into Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other neighboring nations. Civilians are caught in the middle, and the devastation is mounting with heartbreaking speed. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}

Lord, we lift up all those who are suffering right now  not as statistics, but as sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, children and grandparents:

  • All innocent civilians in Iran, Israel, Lebanon, the Gulf states, and beyond who are living in fear or have lost loved ones to violence
  • Families who are displaced, their homes destroyed, or their communities are suddenly unsafe
  • Children who cannot understand the sounds of sirens or the loss of daily life
  • First responders, medics, and volunteers serving the wounded and the dying with very limited resources
  • Soldiers and service members on all sides who face daily danger and moral weight
  • Leaders and decision-makers who hold the fate of millions in their choices, that they might choose the path of peace and not further bloodshed

Father, in a conflict where war planes attack, missiles strike cities, and diplomats are evacuated, we pray for the protection of human life, for comfort over shattered hearts, and for peace where there is only chaos. Surround those who are grieving with Your presence. Bring wisdom where there is confusion, and healing where there is pain.

Even now, many borders are closing, embassies are evacuated, and people are fleeing danger zones, anxious about what tomorrow will bring. Families are torn apart, and the smallest among us suffer fears no child should know. We pray that You would hold them in Your care.

Lord, we also pray for leadership guided by compassion. Let the voices that call for negotiation, understanding, and restraint be heard above the cries for vengeance and escalation. Soften hardened hearts and open doors to ceasefires, dialogue, and reconciliation rather than further destruction. Give courage to those who advocate for peace, and strengthen them when the weight of this conflict feels unbearable.

We ask for miracles of protection over hospitals, schools, shelters, and places of refuge. Cover doctors, nurses, aid workers, and volunteers with Your strength as they serve without rest. Watch over the displaced, the homeless, and the frightened with Your everlasting mercy.

Heavenly Father, where war has taken homes, give hope. Where hatred grows, sow compassion. Where there is anger, bring understanding. Where there is death, work resurrection in the hearts of all who seek peace.

In Your mercy, Lord, we pray for an end to this conflict. May Your peace —the peace that surpasses all understanding guard the hearts and minds of every person affected by this war. Amen.

Context of the Conflict

Recent developments show that what began as a direct military strike by the US and Israel on Iranian targets has now spread across the Middle East. The assassination or death of Iran’s Supreme Leader triggered retaliatory strikes, including attacks on the US Embassy in Riyadh and missile launches into Israel and Gulf states. Countries across the region have closed airspace and urged citizens to evacuate dangerous areas. Civilian casualties and infrastructure damage are mounting as the violence continues.

Sharing this prayer on Epifia is a way to lift up lives affected by conflict ordinary people whose names we may never know but whose suffering cries out for compassion, solidarity, and divine protection.
