Why We Must Pray

Physical suffering reminds us of our frailty (Psalms 103:14). Paul’s situation invites us to intercede for healing, for wisdom for his medical team, and for peace amid uncertainty. The Bible assures us that “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). By praying, we align ourselves with God’s compassion and demonstrate the love Christ commands us to show.

Prayer Points

• Ask God to guide the surgeons, granting them steady hands and clear judgment.
• Pray for a swift and uncomplicated recovery for Paul Hollywood, that he may regain full use of his hand.
• Lift up his family and close friends, that they may experience comfort and strength.
• Seek the Holy Spirit’s peace to replace any anxiety or fear Paul may feel.
• Request that this trial become a testimony of God’s faithfulness to those who witness it.

Scripture Reflection

Psalms 147:3 – “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” This promises God’s personal care for those in pain.

Isaiah 40:29‑31 – “He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength… those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength.” Encourages believers to trust God’s sustaining power during recovery.
