What does the Bible say about the body being a temple?

According to Exodus 25–27 and 1 Kings 6–8, the tabernacle and subsequently the temple building were revered as hallowed places where God lived among His people. Similar to a temple, the Holy Spirit resides in our bodies in addition to being carried in them. Every human being is made in God's image and has the capacity to house the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:27).

Given that our physical health and well-being are crucial components of worship and devotion to God, we are obligated to take care of our bodies. This entails leading a healthy lifestyle, exercising restraint and self-control, refraining from actions or substances that damage the body, and treating people with dignity and consideration.
